Sarfaraz Khan – The latest batting sensation of India

Our Indian cricket team has always been known for producing classy batsmen. Be it Sunil Gavaskar, Kris Shrikanth, Mohammed Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar,Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag and the very recent oneViratKohli. The world has reckoned our batting supremos time and again. The latest addition to this legendary list is the 18 years old Sarfaraz Khan.

Sarfaraz first came into limelight at the age of 12 when he broke a 45-year old Harris Shield record by scoring 438 runs off 421 balls. It takes a lot of stamina, concentration and talent for a boy at this age to stand and deliver such a performance.

He has already represented India in two Under-19 World Cups, 2014 and 2016. In the 2014 U-19 World Cup, he emerged as one of the best Indian batsmen with scores like 74, 45, 34 and 52. Along with his batting skills, he is a handy bowler too which makes him a complete package.

His 2014 U-19 World Cup stint earned him a place in the IPL amongst the top players. He was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore. He gained a lot of applause from his fellow team mates. Here is a glimpse of one of his innings from his last IPL match.

Sarfaraz Khan played a key role in taking India to the final of this year U-19 World Cup hosted by Bangladesh.He scored 6 fifties in the tournament scoring a total of 484 runs in 8 innings and 1 wicket. Have a look at one of his innings from U-19 World Cup 2016 :
