The Gulberg Society Massacre Case in which 69 people were killed including the former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, on February 28, 2002 in the communal violence that ravaged Gujarat. The case had been ruling highlights with the problem of delayed justice.
The special investigation court had found 24 people guilty on June 2, 11 of them of murder.
On Friday, a special court sentenced 11 convicts to life imprisonment, 12 others to 7 years and 1 more to 10 years in jail.
