Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ has made it to the theatres today and the timing could not have been better, with the long weekend coming up. There were high expectations from the movie, once the trailer was out, and it hits bullseye specially in the acting performance of the lead pair Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautami. We just cannot take our eyes of them, who ironically have no sight, yet a great vision of life that is awe-inspiring for us.
Love Is Blind… Literally.
The story is about a blind couple – Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) is a dubbing artiste and Supriya (Yami Gautam), portrays a pianist who meet each other and develop feelings instantly. They have a positive outlook in life and this can be seen in their exuberant chemistry together.
The dance to Mon Amour song has everyone’s heart falling for the lead pair as they look forward to a wonderful life together.
Life Is Not Always Song And Dance…
The movie takes a turn when Supriya is raped by the Amit Shellar (Rohit Roy) and Wasim (Sahidur Rahman). The couple’s world is shattered altogether, with no help from the police that is under the influence of the local corporator Madhavrao Shellar (Ronit Roy), the accused Amit’s elder brother. Rohan then tries to take law in his own hands to get justice for his wife.
Twitter Is All Praise…
Even Hrithik’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan tweeted more than once!
The Raees-Kaabil Friendly Rivalry…
Final Verdict – 4/5
Inspired from the Hollywood movie, Blind Fury (1989) Sanjay Gupta is back with his trademark action filled thriller movie and does a commendable job making it. Hrithik is the bright spot in the movie with sincerity in his acting. The conviction in his performance melts you with his on-screen chemistry with Yami and keeps you on the edge of your seat everytime he is out as a lone range against the hordes of bad guys! The remixed songs Saara Zamaana and Dil Kya Kare are forgettable. The movie proves that Bollywood is ready to take the plunge and give a different cinematic experience to the audience.
