With the recent championship victories, PV Sindhu has lifted Indian badminton on the global stage, among her peers. Now, there is more good news for the Indian shuttler, as her name has been nominated for the Padma Bhushan!
The world no. 2 has been an unstoppable force since the Rio Olympics last year and is only the second athlete after cricketer MS Dhoni to have been nominated for the honour this year.
PV Sindhu is the first Indian shuttler to reach the final of an Olympics badminton event and the youngest Indian to make a podium finish in an individual event at the Olympics. PV Sindhu has also won silver in the World Championships, along with title victories in the Indian Open and Korea Open.
She is already the recipient of India’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri and with the nomination of Padma Bhushan, we wish her more such accolades in her future games and championships.
