Vinod Khanna Passes Away At 70, Twitter Mourns For The Loss

A Bollywood veteran has left us with never ending memories of his impeccable performances in roles galore. He entered the film industry with antagonist roles who won our hearts and later went on to portray lead roles with equal competence to other established superstars of the golden era of Bollywood and cemented his feet for the decades to come – Vinod Khanna.

Just a few days back, a viral photo of an unrecognizable Vinod Khanna was doing the rounds, giving hints of his deteriorating health. Now, the Bollywood legend has passed away at the age of 70 at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital. He was said to be suffering from cancer.


Vinod Khanna, a Bharatiya Janata Party member of the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab, was admitted to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai. One of the most handsome actors in the industry, Vinod Khanna starred in as many as 146 films. Some of his most well received works include Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Insaaf and Amar, Akbar, Anthony. He was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale (2015).

At the zenith of his successful career, Vinod Khanna decided to leave it behind to follow on the path of spirituality.

He was married twice and is survived by his four children: sons Akshaye, Rahul and Sakhsi and daughter Shraddha. This is indeed a great loss to all of the Bollywood industry and the fans alike and will always be remembered in the roles he immortalized in the films.
