When Your Sibling Moves To Another City And You Can’t Help But Be Depressed About It

Siblings share a very dear relation with each other. They be together, do things, share secrets, explore life and most importantly, grow together. They share a bond which is pure by all means and is unbreakable. But as situations change, the geographical distance comes into play for some, separating the inseparables and that is when you miss them the most.

1. Eating Maggie at 3 a.m. doesn’t make sense to you “anymore”.

Remember the late night shows of your favorite movies? And how you used to prep up for the late night movies with a hot plate of maggi with your favorite soda and the argument that followed of who ate more and who ate less?

2. You miss the fight over the TV remote

That was something you were boasting to be happy about when you went to see off your brother/sister but now there’s nothing that you hate more than holding that remote in your hand and realizing that nobody is going to snatch it away from you or stand in front of the television just to irritate you. Now it’s just you and the tv.

3. The uncontrollable laughter you guys shared is history now

One, just one string to trigger your funny bone and then you two would be unstoppable. The fits of laughter with your stomach aching and eyes watering is your most favorite memory now. You haven’t laughed that hard since the last time with them, right?

4. You have no idea who their new friends are

You knew all his/her friends and now when you see their pictures, it’s like they are a whole new person with a whole new bunch of people you have absolutely no idea about and makes you even sadder to be far apart.

5. You hate to see them having so much fun in the new place

No matter how happy you are seeing them achieving what they always wished for but yet you’re envious when you see how much they are loving their new life because it makes you feel they wouldn’t want to come back and somewhere deep inside you, you might worry that soon they wouldn’t even miss you.

6. You can’t immediately share something important

You have enormous amount of stuff to tell them but you can’t and it annoys you the most and then, above all, if there’s something you just can’t keep inside and you know how much fun it would have been to tell them right away, it bugs you like anything but you just close your eyes and swallow the entire imagination.

7. It gets hard to not see each other on birthdays

Birthdays are worst especially in the first year when you are celebrating it in their absence for the first time. No matter if you have already received the gifts and you could talk to them through the video call, it just doesn’t feel the same and it never will.

8. Scrolling through your old pictures while you miss them

You probably have many many pictures together but at times you feel they aren’t really enough. You long for a new picture with them and keep scrolling down the old ones every time you miss them.

9. When skype acts like a bitch

Skype is like your knight in shining armor but then it acts like a bitch too. Either it doesn’t connect at all or sound is a problem or the network is poor, especially when you need it the most. How unfair is that?

10. You can’t do anything when they are sick

Even if they are being taken care of, you feel helpless because you cannot do anything to help them ease.

11. The extraaaa long hug you share when you see them after a long time

When the moment finally comes and you get to meet them again, you hug them so tight that no force can separate you if you don’t want to.

12. It’s even more difficult to say goodbye the next time

Goodbyes are always difficult, be it for the first time or the last.
